Introduction and Overview

Mesa Tactical has long been a supplier of MIL-STD-1913 (NATO STANAG 4694) Picatinny rails for tactical shotguns. A Picatinny rail for mounting optics or sights is included with every Mesa Tactical High-tube Telescoping Stock Adapter Kit. All Mesa Tactical Picatinny rails adhere to the MIL-STD 1913 specification for firearm accessory rails. It is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, then bead blasted and Type III hard anodized for a rugged, flat black finish. Mesa Tactical Picatinny rails include all necessary mounting hardware.

Mesa Tactical Saddle Rails are 6061-T6 aluminum brackets that wrap around the top of the shotgun receiver. The factory trigger pins are replaced by an internally threaded steel pin (in the rear) and paired Chicago screws (up front), to which both sides of the saddle rail are securely bolted. The saddle rail is Type III anodized for a rugged surface finish.

Our Saddle Rail is specially contoured to allow operation of a semi-automatic bolt on the right side of the receiver, so it can be installed on Remington 1100 and Remington 11-87 semi-auto shotguns as well as Remington 870 pump shotguns. The rail is notched at the rear to accommodate Scattergun/Wilson style ghost ring sights, and extends to the front of the shotgun receiver (5 inch rail), 2¾ inches past the front of the receiver (8½ inch rail), or just beyond the barrel’s magazine lug (20 inch rail). The 20 inch rails are available with or without the required Magazine Clamp or Barrel Clamp. No gunsmithing is required to install. Minor fitting of fasteners may be necessary.

Adapter Mount Picatinny Rails fasten to the accessory mount points on the sides of Mesa Tactical High-tube telescoping stock adapters, not on the shotgun receiver. They can also be used on the sides of our Barrel Clamps, Magazine Clamps and clamps used as front mount points for 20 inch and 24 inch rails, which feature the same mounting hole pattern as our stock adapters; or our Picatinny rails for the Kel-Tec KSG shotgun.

SureShell Aluminum Shotshell Carriers with Rail combine a shell carrier with a MIL-STD-1913 (NATO STANAG 4694) Picatinny rail that accepts optical, sights, lasers or accessories. These shotshell carrier/rail systems mount via a “saddle” style method (Remington shotguns) or by using the drilled and tapped holes on top of the shotgun’s receiver.
